Rapid Trident was omitted from the flurry of coverage on the shoot-down MH-17.

From the U.S. Army in Europe website:

Rapid Trident supports interoperability among Ukraine, the United States, NATO and Partnership for Peace member nations. The exercise helps prepare participants to operate successfully in a joint, multinational, integrated environment with host-nation support from civil and governmental agencies. Rapid Trident is a part of U.S. European Command’s Joint Training and Exercise Program, designed to enhance joint combined interoperability with allied and partner nations. The exercise also supports Ukraine’s Annual National Program to achieve interoperability with NATO and commitments made in the annual NATO-Ukraine work plan.

Flight MH17 Down Over Ukraine

Flying over warzone Ukraine, the probable & convenient happens.

July 18, 2014 (Tony Cartalucci – LD) – At no juncture during the Ukrainian crisis could the downing of Malaysian Boeing 777 flight MH17 have been more convenient for NATO and its proxy regime in Kiev. Kiev’s forces were being picked apart in eastern Ukraine with several units encircled and destroyed. In the west of the country, dissent was growing by Ukrainians unwilling to march off to fight in the east. NATO’s attempts to bait Russia into moving into Ukrainian territory and shift global opinion against Moscow had repeatedly failed.

The final card to be played by the US was another round of sanctions that almost immediately was ridiculed as ineffective and impotent. Even US corporate-financier interests condemned the latest round of sanctions claiming they were “unilateral” in nature and thus limited US enterprise from interacting with Russia while leaving European competitors free to move into the void.  An effective US policy of confronting, containing, and undermining Russia would require multilateral sanctions with almost universal support – but the impetus for such sweeping sanctions did not exist – until now.

NATO Hopes for Russian Invasion of Ukraine

1401717176000-ukraine060214-001July 15, 2014 (Tony Cartalucci – NEO) – In the minds of many following along with the Western narrative regarding the ongoing conflict in Ukraine, the Russians have already “invaded.” Despite paradoxical claims of nuclear-armed Russia “invading” eastern Ukraine but with Kiev’s battered, disorganized troops in mismatching uniforms and without daily rations overwhelming these forces, many have chosen to believe that indeed Kiev’s inability to assert control in Ukraine’s easternmost provinces is solely because of Russian “intervention.”

Organ Harvesting in Ukraine Goes Unreported

July 9, 2014 (Tony Cartalucci – NEO) – Unlike the terrorist offenses in Libya, Syria, and now Iraq, backed by the United States, the UK, the EU, members of NATO as well as regional collaborators such as Saudi Arabia, Israel, and Qatar, where any attempts to stop extremists from seizing entire nations is met by the West’s howling indignation and accusations of “human rights abuses,” the unmitigated brutality executed by literal Nazis in Ukraine against breakaway provinces in the east are accompanied by a hypocritical silence from the West. Refugees streaming away from encircled and bombarded populated centers tell tales of mass murder, indiscriminate targeting of civilians, and even grisly accounts of forced organ harvesting taking place from the bodies of those killed by Kiev’s combined arms offensive, or from those kidnapped by criminal gangs operating in the vacuum of impunity afforded by the West’s silence.

Ukraine: Kiev’s Ticking Time Bomb

July 3, 2014 (Tony Cartalucci – NEO) – After a brief ceasefire, Kiev has resumed the bombardment of populated centers in the eastern breakaway provinces of Donetsk and Lugansk, both bordering with neighboring Russia. Kiev and its Western backers face a confounding dilemma – continue military operations in eastern Ukraine and create a heavily militarized opposition while racking up a troubling human rights record, or commit to a ceasefire and for all intents and purposes forfeit Donetsk and Lugansk just as Kiev has done regarding Crimea.

Leaked: ‘US think-tank plan’ on E. Ukraine suggests internment camps, executions

RT – A leaked memo attributed to RAND corporation think tank suggests the Ukrainian govt should engage in an all-out war in the east, including shutting down all communications, putting citizens in internment camps and killing all who resist such actions.

In the shocking letter, which has been leaked to online media, the advice offers a step by step brutal guide in how to deal with the population in eastern Ukraine. The authenticity of the document which bears the RAND corporation logo, however, could not be independently verified.

The RAND Corporation is non-profit global think tank which offers research and analysis to the US armed forces.

‘Thanks, Ukraine Air Force’: Bombarded villagers accuse Kiev of killing civilians

RT – The village of Kondrashovka in eastern Ukraine lies devastated after shelling by Kiev troops which killed seven people. Bodies torn to pieces are strewn across the settlement and those who survived are asking: why did Kiev kill their families?

Shells devastate entire streets in eastern
Ukrainian town (VIDEO, PHOTOS)

At least five shells hit the settlement, destroying an entire
street in the peaceful Lugansk region community, 25km from the
city of Lugansk.

Dramatic RT footage shows the ravaged village, including a local
resident’s backyard which was literally transformed into a grave.

“They killed my mother, and my father is injured. I took him
to hospital,”
Aleksandr Mironenko told RT’s Marina
Finoshina, one of the few journalists to report from the scene.

Ukraine and the Battle for South Stream

June 27, 2014 (Tony Cartalucci – NEO) – The ongoing conflict in Ukraine, admittedly an attempt to expand both NATO and the European Union (EU),  has escalated in terms of dominating Europe’s energy markets. Attempts to halt the ongoing construction of Russia’s South Stream natural gas pipeline appears to be a direct attempt to further penalize Russia for its role in defending Ukrainians currently under siege by aircraft, artillery, heavy armor and irregular troops.

Ethnic and cultural cleansing in Ukraine

thumbbOn the centennial anniversary of “Russophilic” individuals (Rusyns) from modern-day Ukraine being sent to concentration camps, history appears set to once again repeat itself. The Ukrainian Defense Minister has publicly voiced his plan to corral the citizens of Donbass into special “filtration” camps prior to forcibly resettling them in different parts of Ukraine. A few days later, Ukrainian Prime Minister Yatsenyuk declared the pro-federalists in the East to be “subhuman”. This choice of words not only wasn’t condemned by Kiev’s American patrons, but was actually defended by State Department spokesperson Jen Psaki, who strangely said that Yatsenyuk “has consistently been in support of a peaceful resolution”. Raising concerns even higher that a full-fledged cleansing is being planned, Ukraine’s land agency said that it will be giving “free land” from the east to the military, Interior Ministry, and Special Services troops battling the federalists. With Ukraine on the verge of large-scale ethnic and cultural cleansing, it is little wonder at whose expense this Lebenstraum-like “free land” will be given.

US Propaganda Accidentally Exposes Nazi Crimes in Ukraine

US State Department propaganda witlessly confirms Right Sector Nazis are operating in eastern Ukraine, kidnapping journalists, and working directly for the regime in Kiev.

Image: Media won't report the narrative Kiev wants to hear? Just send Right Sector Nazis to kidnap them and coerce the talking points you want reported at gunpoint. Pictured above is one of two Russian journalists taken hostage by Right Sector Nazis and made to "confess."

June 20, 2014 (Tony Cartalucci – LD) - The Interpreter Magazine is a “special project” of the Institute of Modern Russia. By “Modern Russia,” its creators mean, Russia as imagined by Wall Street and London. The “institute” is run by disgraced Russian billionaire oligarch, convicted criminal, and long-time Western proxy Mikhail Khodorkovsky, his son, and Washington lobbyists. It includes contributors such as Catherine A. Fitzpatrick who literally worked for the US State Department’s propaganda arm, Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty and convicted financial criminal George Soros’ faux-rights advocate Human Rights Watch (HRW) and Soros’ Open Society Institute itself.

The Interpreter is overtly a clearinghouse for anti-Russian propaganda and ceaselessly promoted by corporate-funded and directed faux-rights advocates like the Neo-Con lined National Endowment for Democracy (NED) and Freedom House – both of which are funded and perpetuated by the US State Department itself.

Ukraine: Operations on the ground are being conducted by Poland

Sikorski and Dziewulski: The Strategy and Tactics of the Neo-Commonwealth

While Derek Chollet, U.S. Assistant Secretary of Defense, has moved to Kiev in order to coordinate the military repression, indications are that operations on the ground are being conducted by Poland. A photograph that has been circulated online leaves no doubt about Warsaw’s implication.
